Pay for outcomes, not seats

Lane uses credits instead of per-seat pricing. Every content piece costs a fixed number of credits — your costs scale with output, not headcount.

Full cost breakdown in your dashboard

If Lane's guardrails reject a generation, you're never charged. You only pay for content that's delivered.

The cost structure difference

Traditional marketing costs scale with your business. Lane doesn't.

Variable Cost Model

  • Marketing hire: $80K-150K/yr + benefits
  • Agency retainer: $3K-10K/mo, scales with scope
  • Per-seat SaaS: Costs grow with headcount
  • Per-word AI tools: Unpredictable bills

Credit Model (Lane)

  • Platform fee: Flat monthly cost
  • Included credits: Predictable base
  • BYOLLM option: Control AI costs directly
  • No seats: Output scales, costs don't

Frequently asked questions

What happens when I run out of credits?

On the Starter plan, generation stops at 50 credits — upgrade to continue. On Pro and Business, you can keep generating beyond your included credits at the overage rate ($0.15 or $0.10 per credit). You'll see your usage in real time in the dashboard, and you can set spending alerts.

What is BYOLLM?

Bring Your Own LLM means you connect your own API key from OpenAI, Anthropic, or Google. You pay the AI provider directly for token usage, and Lane charges only the $49/mo platform fee. You get the same features as Pro/Business — the only difference is who pays for the AI compute. Best for technical founders who want full cost control. BYOLLM is coming soon — join the waitlist to be notified when it launches.

Do I get charged for failed generations?

No. If Lane's quality guardrails reject a generation before it reaches you, no credits are deducted. You only pay for content that's actually delivered. Each content type also includes free regenerations if you want a different version.

Can I switch between tiers?

Yes. You can upgrade or downgrade at any time. When upgrading, you'll get access to additional credits immediately. When downgrading, the change takes effect at your next billing cycle. You can also switch between monthly and annual billing at any time.

How are video credits calculated?

Video credits vary by length and complexity (20-50 credits). Before committing credits, you'll see a low-cost preview draft. Only approve and pay full credits when you're happy with the result. This way you're never surprised by the cost of rich media content.

Do unused credits roll over?

Included credits reset each billing cycle and do not roll over. This keeps pricing simple and predictable for everyone.

How does annual billing work?

Annual billing saves you 20% compared to monthly. You're billed once per year and your included credits refresh monthly — same allowance, lower price. You can switch from monthly to annual at any time, and the discount applies immediately.
